2004 Weblog Awards

wla.jpg

Well since they didn’t have a category for blog whore, and because I don’t blog about politics, I came up short of reaching the finals in each of the 31 categories of blog awards. Do I really suck that bad?

Actually we have reason to cheer because our very own Michele Agnew is a well deserved finalist in the Best Canadian Blog category, and Corporate Mommy gets the nod as a finalist in the Best of 1750-2500 ranked blogs.

Go over and give them your votes!

That didn’t sound too much like sour grapes did it? If you need me I’ll be in the corner patching up my self-esteem. Mrs. G has already removed all the sharp objects and my shoe strings.

  1. Busy Mom Says:

We need some awards that don’t have any political categories at all!

  2. Jenn Says:

Honey, you’ll always be OUR $1 blog whore!

  3. Jenn Says:

LOL Typo…not our $1 whore, but our #1 blog whore. Freudian???

  4. Amber Says:

    *snort* $1 whore *snort*

  5. y Says:

I’m totally going to do blog awards for BLOGS THAT DON’T MATTER.

Stupid political blogs, thinking they’re all better than us.

Categories will be something like “best drunken post” “best use of the word dick” etc…

I KNOW you’re going to steal this idea, you whore.

  6. debby Says:

    Oh my, “Y” said dick…

  7. Misti Says:

FWIW, I’m here, not at those “award winning” blogs…

Yeah, not much comfort, but it’s what I’ve got. ;)

  8. Michele Says:

Thank you Genuine. YOUR nomination helped me make the list…of course the fact that I am in the same catagory as political blogs will help me get to the bottom of the list.

Yet, I am thrilled and grateful to you and anyone else who pauses to read my blog.

    Virtual Hugs!!

  9. Margaret Says:

You are award winning in my book, G! I really don’t read blogs because they are in a contest; I like what or how the people write, or just like the blogger himself or herself.

  10. Skatemom Says:

What “Y” said — I can’t stand those political things. If I wanted to be confused, feel ignorant, and be all intellectual, I’ll ask the smartass 20-something in the cubicle next to me a question about “cuisine” and hear him ramble for half an hour how he’d never eat anything from a box. Puh-leeze.

You, Mrs. G, ZeroBoss, Silly Old Ben and other like that are what I need to read to feel normal in my crazy life. With kids and a mortgage and idiots around me ALL DAY LONG!!!

  11. Mindy Says:

Zeno got nominated for best European (non-British) blog! Only they have him listed as Hot Lovin’ Gone Cold… Go vote!

  12. kj4ever Says:

Don’t feel bad Genuine, I got ousted too.

My competitive nature and poor sportsmanship caused me to look up the other blogs that were in the finals of my category, the TLB Eco 5000-6750 category.

Not only were over half of them not eligible because of the time of the nomination most were in the 10,000 range, but most were in the political arena as well.

Maybe it is sad and pathetic that I looked them up, but considering there were only a few chosen, I decided to check them out and see what was so wonderful about them.

    Oh well…

  13. kate Says:

aaaaaaawwwwwwwwwwwww. It don’t mean a thing. It’s just a dumb little tag.

jenn, amber? he charges you $1? I get my fix for ten cents.

  14. Michelle Says:

*offers you a warm, soothing hug*

It’s ok- you are still one of MY favorite all time blogs and that’s all that matters, right? ;-)

  15. FTS Says:

I hear ya… I was nominated, too, but also failed to make ‘the cut.’ It would have been a nice accolade, but in the end we do this because we love it — and because of our blog friends. You, like so many others, obviously have a vast and very tightly knit ‘family’ here, and that matters far more than a little graphic you could put in your sidebar.

I’ve passed by here several times on BE and have come to enjoy your site. I tried to make it to the party you threw. Sadly, I arrived a little too late. I’m adding you to my Blogroll now, though, so I’ll be sure to make the next one. :-)

  16. Ravings of a Corporate Mommy Says:

It’s an honor just to be nominated… (Weblog Awrds Edition)

So GENUINE IM’s me with his congratulations. And I’m a dufus, so I’m like “Uh, thanks… for what?!” And that’s how I found out. And it turns out that rascally rabbit and all-around cool dude Jim (Snooze Button Jim, Not…

  17. csm Says:

Can I still be first in line??? LOL!

  18. Wyllow Says:

Hey you got a “Wyllow Wuvs Me” Award for your orginality, non political bullshit, being real and not sterile, and humor.

Speaking of which any interested in one let me know I have two buttons for it! Cause like many I never recieve awards- well for blogging so I made some.

And yes you are the blog whore of all Blog whores.. we worship you our queen… ermm I mean King.

  19. rachel Says:

I didn’t get nominated for the Ecosystem Best top 100… of course I hadn’t even heard of this crap until today so blah.

  20. Rockchild Says:

    Jim!

I just voted for them, but Len from “Fast Eddies Bullet” is also nominated in the weblog awards for Best European (Non UK) Blog!

Len’s blog is under “Hot Lovin gone cold“, but he asked if they can change it to Fast Eddies Bullet.

It would be so cool is everybody can vote for him too, and vote for my friend Sweet N Sassy’s blog “Always Victoria“, she’s also nominated for Best of the Top 1750 – 2500 Blogs!

  21. I Am Dr. Laura's Worst Nightmare Says:

    Self-congratulatory

The Great Blogging Nation has been a-buzz and a-tweaked over the 2004 Weblog Awards.
