Button Up!

Here are the Bash buttons for those of you wanting the button for your site. I think the Genuine Bash was a hit, and I think that we’ll have another bash the weekend after Mother’s Day. I’ll go with the majority vote if you want to vote on it! Someday soon I’ll put together a real Bash and the whole community can meet in the flesh and I’ll buy a round of drinks. For now, we’ll just have to keep the bash as it is…….very fun!

Boys' Day In

The girls are out and about today so the boys get a day to themselves where they can do that bonding thing. You know the farting, the scratching and the spitting.

Oh wait we did that before when the girls were here. *sigh*

Bite Me

I took the night off last night to catch some TV with Mrs. G. I have always liked vampire movies, and especially movies with KB in them, but when you combine KB and vampire stuff…….ROWR!

I feel asleep in the recliner last night and was dreaming for some reason about a vampire chasing me. Could be the chili we had for dinner, topped with Crown Royal, which is always a deadly combination.

Just as she was about to bite, I woke up!

Dammit! Who wouldn’t want to be bitten by this?

This is a picture taken of Underworld: Evolution, the sequel to Underworld, the movie we watched last night. Let’s just say I woke up with more than a kink in my neck!

UPDATE: Of course this could be the reason my kids could not go to sleep….just thinking.

TGIF Hottie

My buddy cornfed said that I was posting more pictures of hottie guys than I was of hottie girls, so I asked him to provide me with a special request of who he wanted to see posted here. He sent me a list of hotties and although I had a difficult time deciding on which hottie I would use, I decided on Halle Berry, a huge hottie in my book.

I didn’t want to have this pic up on my computer screen for the whole world to see, so I decided to put it in the extended entry, because it is just barely work safe. Thanks cornfed!

I’d like to loosen some screws in that outfit!

April Snow

If April showers bring May flowers, what does April Snow bring?

Besides an angry stressful rush hour? Ugh.

Keeping Promises

I did say I would show some of your choices of male hotties and since nobody really wants to see me kick Mr. Scott’s butt, I’ll go ahead and put this up for your “So Happy It’s Thursday”
enjoyment.

Don’t worry honey, I’ll act out that scene from “A Time To Kill” later on tonight.

Where's Daddy?

Oh boy, now you have done it….now you have gone and pissed off Mommy.

Okay, so maybe I am obsessing with this subject too much, but the more I hear and the more I read the more I need to vent my frustration. Please bear with me.

Dear Mr. Scott:

Perhaps you have been wondering how long it would take for the story to spill over to you. You have to wonder no longer because I have decided to call you out. I have a few questions that need answered. The first one I have?

Where are you?

Signed,

Genuine

P.S. I would be happy to let you explain yourself just before I kick your ass!

The Proposition

Sitting at my desk staring at my computer screen trying desparately to make myself productive, the phone rang:

“Hello”

“I’m coming to pick you up and we are going home for a quickie.”

Now this could be the best thing a guy could ever hear in the morning. I pictured the possibilites in my mind as I was silent for a moment. I quickly ran through my head the meetings I could cancel, the paperwork I could delegate and the way to getaway. Then she revealed her plan….

“Let’s go home and take a nap.”

Now that sounds like the best proposition I have had in months!

Another Point of View

I am very pleased at the comments received on the post about the 5-year-old student in Florida. I’m still trying to sort out my feelings about this incident, and I have tried to read as many points of view as possible. One point of view I think everyone needs to at least read and consider is written here by a new find Black Ambition. As is the case, I tend to want to hear all sides of the story before I can make a decision on which side of the fence I fall on certain issues. I urge you to read his entry on the incident. He asks a poignant question:

Q: Would Ja’eshia Scott have been handcuffed by (4) police officers if she was a little blond haired, blued-eyed, JonBenet Ramsey looking, white girl?

I don’t have an answer to the question other than to say I hope that this did not occur as a result of racism. He does go on to update the post by stating that the supervising officer was African American and was responsible for the actions of his officers.

My response to the question as best I could was this:

BA,

Thanks for the post and for your well-moderated comments. I have no idea how I ended up here, but I have wanted to see the discussion from all sides so I am grateful to hear your opinion and the opinions of your readers. I cannot say whether your comments are unfounded, I have a 5 year old white daughter in a private school so perhaps I cannot begin to understand the plight of this poor child. I say poor child because at 5 I cannot imagine she understood any of what was going on around her. As a father when she started to cry out, I’m not sure I could have stood by and watched them treat her with that kind of disrespect. My heart cracked each time I watched the video. I only wanted to comment on one part of the tape that stood out to me as real telling of the story I think needs to be addressed. The child was obviously under no fear of the consequences of her actions while the school people were involved. It seems as though when the officers arrived on scene, she then “calmed down” and sat down away from the door, almost in a hiding manner. These appear to be the actions of a child that realized she was in trouble, or perhaps a child that does not like the police, I’m not sure. Thanks for letting me take up space here, and I know blogger does not allow email addresses for “other” commenters, but my blog has a contact me page if you have want to respond. In fact I intend to send my readers over for your perspective, and post my comment as well. I’ll be back too!

I know that I don’t normally get into the depth of these types of issues here, but I could not as a Daddy sit back and ignore this story. I am praying that Ja’eshia Scott is kept away from harm, and I know another spirited 5 year old that would love to have a new friend.
