A Broken Blog Makes A Sad Blogger

Well I have narrowed the problem down to about 4,056,056,456,456,265,465 possiblities and as of now, my frustration level has peaked. Is there such a thing as “Going Blogger” on someone?

I know its a coding problem….then again I know poverty is a lack of money problem. I just don’t know how to solve it. First one to say “Give it more money” and I’ll go blogger on your ass!

Marketing Genius

What marketing genius over at SBC decided that this advertising banner should be used to market their service?

Although I realize that they are capitalizing on the new movie The Fantastic Four, does anyone else get the quick glance impression of a burning airplane crashing into a building?

You might be sleep deprived if…..

You might be sleep deprived if…

1. …you spend the time sleeping while waiting for your computer to boot up in the morning.

2. …the traffic report in the morning makes you giggle.

3. …you lust for your pillow.

4. …you plan your day around a catnap at lunch.

5. …you would rather lose a limb than spill your precious coffee.

6. …while making a call, you hope to be put on hold for a really long time.

7. …a drug induced coma sounds better than vacation.

8. …you have a complete and foolproof plan to call in a bomb threat to your employer so they have to investigate, allowing you to catch some winks in your car in the parking lot.

9. …you are jealous of the inmates in solitary confinement.

10. …you joke to your friends that you will sleep when you’re dead, and in the back of your mind you secretly plan the most efficient and least painful way to make it happen.

11. …you drive all the way into work and you have no idea how you got there.

12. …there are strange dried up signs of drool on your keyboard.

It's Amazing!

The thing I find so amazing is you people. From now on, I might just use one word posts. Obviously, they are easy to read and comment about.

The blog is still running on all but a couple of cylinders. I am pouring through some of the HTML to try to determine if its a coding problem or whether its like I assumed, A LOOSE NUT BEHIND THE KEYBOARD!

Bare for me…..er I mean bear with me, while I jump from the top of the building. I always wondered why they did not allow us to have offices with windows that open.

Since the blog is already broken, go ahead and give me your favorite link to the best Ceaser Salad Dressing recipe!

UPDATE: I think I may have fixed the problem. Yes, I know I said I fixed it yesterday, but when you have as many problems as I do, you tend to overlook a few of them.

I had a spammer that left me a nice little comment with an open ended tag. He was so nice to add “Thanks” to the comment though! We’ll see if this fixes the problem. The funny thing was, it only happened at the same time of night, and then fixed itself the same time during the morning. That is some freaky stuff. It was like being a 7-11 store that was only open from 9-5. Weird.

Are you MADD?

Mothers Against Drunk Drivers have given the nod to a Daddy? This is the 25th Anniversary of the MADD organization, and beginning July 1, 2005, Glynn Birch will be the National President. Mr. Birch is quite qualified given the horror he had to endure.

Birch’s story: On May 3, 1988, Birch’s son Courtney was playing with his two cousins at his grandmother’s house when they ran outside to the sounds of an arriving ice cream truck. A car traveling 70 miles an hour struck and killed Courtney, and dragged his body 150 feet before finally stopping. The driver had a .26 blood-alcohol concentration, three prior DUI convictions and was driving on a suspended license as a result of previous DUIs. “This offender who took my son’s life was the epitome of a higher risk driver,” Birch said.

This Friday is July 1, and it begins the holiday weekend where many Americans will be out driving and vacationing. This is also one of the biggest weekends for liquor stores and as I refer to it, “Amateur Weekend”. Please don’t drink and drive. Perhaps we could kick off the weekend in the safety of our own homes within the blogosphere and have a Genuine Bash.

The War of the Worlds Begins!

At least the world must be ending, because my blog is still limping along and I cannot seem to find out why it won’t load properly. I’m about to trash the whole mess and start over, or perhaps this is an omen that time has come to move on to bigger and…..okay maybe not better things. Anyone have any ideas? Is it time to migrate everything over to Word Press?

UPDATE: I was having problems with the sidebars loading. I went into my templates and trashed most of the scripts I had running, and that did not cure the problem. Then when I saved this post, and the problem was suddenly corrected. I’m thinking it may have something to do with how MT is rebuilding the site. Then again that’s just one idiot’s opinion. Now I have to charge myself hourly to figure out the problem.

UPDATE NUMBER 2: I think I have found the problem! Only time will tell now. I only have to charge myself about $200 now! My IT department is expensive!

See? That's what I mean! Making an Ass of Myself!

See what happens when I try to be funny? I have to fill in all the holes in the story? I can’t just assume that you knew that I thought it was 1:20 a.m. in the last post? I guess I should have spelled it out for ya!

I have been having a bad habit recently of expecting people to read my mind.

You know, when your daughter has finally pushed you over the emotional edge and you have an aneurism in the middle of the floor. That means that Daddy needs a nap and a timeout. Sheesh! You think that would have been obvious!

And another thing….when you wake up in the morning with serious wood….oh wait…..*counts to ten* *sigh*

Oh yeah, I know the saying around the word ASSUME!

The Wake Up Call

This morning I was awakened by wind blowing against the window. It took me a moment to focus my eyes and to realize I had fallen asleep again in my recliner. Looking up to the hands on the clock I knew I had not been asleep very long because I could remember looking at the clock at about 12:36 a.m. Upon glancing at the clock, I determined that the little hand was on the 4 and the big hand was on the 1. Knowing I had a few more hours of sleep ahead of me before the 5:00 a.m. wake up siren (at least that is what it sounds like at that time of the morning), I made my way upstairs to slide into bed, not wanting to wake up the Mrs. Sliding in the covers gently, I glanced once again at the digital clock on the headboard. To my horror, I saw that in fact it was 4:23 a.m. I wonder now whether the laser they used on my eyes somehow has made me more dyslexic. Like a wave of ice cold water, the realization hit me that the siren would not be HOURS away.
