Just a little busy!

When you start to email yourself you are very busy, but when you start sending yourself instant messages and wonder why you aren’t answering….it probably means you should cut back on the workload a tad.  Does anyone know what happened to 2005?

What does spam have to do with date night?

Absolutely nothing. Every day I sit down to at least 10-20 spam ads wanting to increase my size and make my woman scream with delight. They want to make me the best lover on the planet.

I smirk a little and move on to the next email, actually wondering to myself if the advertisement actually gets many responses from middle aged husbands with four kids 6 and under? I can honestly say that I would love to use your product to make life more sexy, but at the moment we have a kid throwing up in our bed, another wiping his nose on my wife’s shoulder, and I have had about 3 hours of sleep this week, counting Sunday.

I think I’ll come up with my own campaign to capture the attention of my peers. Not something that makes your penis size larger or makes your woman purr with delight, but something that would be useful. I think I’ll send out an email for a new product that actually makes your children disappear for two or three days at a time, returning them in full glory with perfect health, and nothing the would make them scream at night just as you have fallen asleep. I think I could sell one or two of those packages at a decent price. Come to think of it, I am postive my woman would scream with pleasure and purr with delight if you offered me that product!

How do you take your coffee?

I’m brewing my second pot of coffee just now and wondering how we bloggers get through a day without our infusion of caffeine into our system.

So I’m curious, how do you get your caffeine fix?

Leftovers Again?

Growing up in our house with 4 kids, 3 of which were growing boys, you rarely ever had to deal with leftovers. If something was leftover, it probably was not fit for human consumption, or at least, it wasn’t meat and potatoes (my Mom was known to throw in something green just to throw us off our game). You can imagine as I left home and started providing my own food I was a little shocked at ever having anything left over. Of course, having the latest fast food as leftovers was never the case, and I ate mostly fast food when I was living on my own.

Now with my own kids and family, I have been running into the leftover dilemma once again. Everyday at lunch, I peer into my bag to see what has made its way in there. Like a school boy, I hope its not something that I couldn’t trade for some Ding Dongs and a bag of Fritos. My three boys will be “growing” soon and I’m sure that my lunches will be something new, if the children haven’t eaten everything in the cupboard. I always wondered how my Dad could stomach those Spam sandwiches, and now I understand….he always knew what he was going to have for lunch….the kids hated Spam!

Maybe something green….there is that science project in the back of the fridge I could count on each week.

Genuine Boy Takes A Shot

Unfortunately, with birthdays and other fun stuff, comes also the responsibility of being another year older.  What we have yet to explain to Genuine Boy about his 5 year old checkup with the doctor is he has to take a shot, or is it getting a shot?  I suppose Mommy will need to take a shot following said shot being administered.  Shoot

Genuine Boy already has a disdain for the doctor’s office.  I’m not sure he has ever been there when it was actually fun.  I think the last time he had an experience at the doctor, it took three orderlies, two nurses, and ambulance crew, a state patrolman, and a wandering patient to hold him down while they administered a nebulizer.

Genuine Birthday

Genuine Boy turned 5 years old on Tuesday of this week and today we celebrate his party with some friends and family. I was given the job of buying the birthday present.

I have no idea what I got for my birthday when I was 5, so I’m sure it won’t be a memorable event in my child’s mind when he gets to be my age, but then I dont remember what I had for dinner last night. I wondered what would be memorable? Then it hit me. When I was a young kid my parents bought me the coolest gift, a slot car track. I played with that track for hours! I had tires that I could change and wore out the track itself making laps and laps for days on end. I was the race car king! I was Richard Petty, AJ Foyt and all of the others I watched on TV.

I went to the toy store with my mission. I was somewhat disappointed to find very little in the slot car selection. Nothing that I would think as cool as an adult, but to my son I’m sure he too will think it is cool, just because. I’m not sure if I’m excited to give him the present as much as I’m excited to once again be transmogrified into that little boy practicing for the Indy 500 or Daytona.

Big Chief

As a small boy in school I can remember how nice it was for me when I got that first brand new Big Chief tablet.  It was freshly minted and untarnished by bouncing around in the drawer at school.  I’m the same way about legal pads now.  There is something about a fresh pad of paper that excites me.

Today I was thinking about my kids in school and the things that might make them excited.  I suddenly realized I was old.  My kids won’t get to apreciate that Big Chief tablet.  They will be enjoying that not yet scratched iPod, or that laptop with HD monitor.

Never will they get to smell that scent of paper that brings me back to that first day of school.

Broke Back Genuine

Working away at my desk last night grinding out the emails and the blog posts, I fell asleep somewhere around mignight. As I headed to bed at about 2:00 a.m., I couldn’t wait to climb into the nice warm bed and sleep.

This morning as I climbed from the bed at about 5:00 a.m., I noticed that I should not have fallen asleep at my desk. I have a definite kink in my back! I need one of those chiroqwacktors!

The Artful Dodger and My Weight Problem

My buddy Buzz has come to find out his weight problem and has figured the solution.  I’m happy for him because he can solve his problem but I don’t think I’m so lucky. My problem is more biological in nature.  Here is my theory.

I’m a lover of Labrador retrievers.  No not in that way, but I think they are cool dogs.  I had a male Labrador for a long time, and he was my bestest friend ever.  I never had Dodger neutered because I always felt it would take away his spirit, and it would make him fat and lazy.  This is a common theme among the breed.  They tend to gain weight and are not as active.  Then it hit me…I was recently neutered!  Now I am fat and lazy!!
