I know that alot of you are Blogger.com users and I can appreciate the fact that it is a free service and blah blah blah....
I hate the fact that I have to post "anonymously". It drives me crazy! Can I get around joining the service and still be able to post as myself? I don't want to belong to Blogger.com!!!!
No wonder it's free.
That's why I use Haloscan (another free, and buggy sometimes, service).
But I'm also a member of blogger so I don't have to post anonymously.

hey some of us bloggers out there are poor. Or in my case very poor at the mooment! don't like it well it's your progative. :P
Which you can use basic HTML ( bold italics links) If you are wanting to get linkage to your site.
Though I had the same complaint sending suggestions to blogger. And for free it is pretty damn good! Free image hosting, free audio, free free free.. My kind of price. lol
I don't know squat about blogging mechanics and technical thingies so I don't think that I can help, sorry!

Gen, just do an "a href" link back to your blog on your name in the comment as a signature... works a treat.
Oh my god! I've never seen anyone else post about this and I have thought the exact same thing EVERY time I want to leave a comment when they force you to either join or post anonymously-- I hate that. And I'm not going to give them my info.
heh. Which is why I changed and mooch I mean...use... I mean...oh forget it. This is why I mooch off of Skits' MT. ;)
Yep, hate it. I do what Zeno recommended. Just copy and paste your blog address into your comment at the end on it's own line.

I use blogger.com, but then we host our sites on our servers too. You do get a choice if you want to use their message bit, but we don't for the very reason you dislike it. We use haloscan, so much easier.
hhmmm...well I wanted to leave a comment on someone's blog who had blogspot I think and I started to sign up but then realized they wanted a whole webpage etc so I canceled out. BUT, some of it "took" and I end up with having Knitknacks as my comment name but no URL. What do I do about that? sometimes I'm so not a geek.
that was one of the main reasons I signed up with blog-city instead of blogger....on the few blogger sites that I go to that do not use holoscan I just leave my name and URL inside the comment also

I have a blogger account basically to comment.
But occasionally I'll cross-post something I write there, too.
It doesn't bug me when I post on a blogger blog, because I add my name and link to my blog at the end of my comment on there blog. It doesn't take alot of time to do that because we already have to add our name, link, and email address when we post on Movable Type blogs anyways which takes a little more time.
Yeah. What all of them said. But I did already have a haloscan account long before blogger added comments to their site, so personally, I have haloscan and don't use the blogger comments. So I do know where the frustrations come from and have also complained to blogger.
But I'm also in need of the free services and appreciate them greatly. :)
