With almost 2 feet of snow reported in some parts of the city, Denver and the surrounding area schools are all shut down allowing for fun and mayhem to ensue in the neighborhood. This allowance however appears to not be the case since upon a quick check outside, it is as quiet as a church. Where are all the snowman makers and the snowball fighters? Anytime we had a snow day growing up, we played until our hands were numb and our clothes were soaked through, then we changed and went back out and played some more. Where are the children these days? It must be the computer age. They would rather be indoors playing their Play Station or the latest X-Box game. Fresh air must be like Kryptonite to these youngsters.
I have taken the day off to be home with the kids, and I think we have a big snowman in order, and perhaps a snow fort with a big snowball fight, followed by some hot chocolate and maybe some soup. Now where did I put those snow boots and gloves?
Sounds nice. Those freak Spring snowstorms in Denver are tough. I spent 13 hours in an Expedition with 7 employees in the big one 2 years ago when we got 4 feet.
sounds wonderful. Can i send my three over for some hotchocolate too? You know...what's three more....
Hope you were able to get the wipes before the storm hit...
Good for you, taking the kids outside! So many people are terrified of what will happen if their kids get cold or wet that it's just sad. They're kids! They're supposed to play.
Along the lines of lemonade...when life gives you snow make snowmen! We didn't get much snow this year, and when we did it was quickly followed by enough sun and warmth to melt it all away (in Minnesota, clearly the world is coming to an end), not that I'm really complaining - just an observation.
Count me in on that snowball fight - been ages since I've had a good one! We used to have so much fun outside in the snow. Building igloos, sledding, etc.
I thought of you guys when I was waiting in the airport to catch my flight back from Atlanta. I'm glad to hear you all are doing well :)
Throw one of those snowballs this way - my 5 yo is already complaining about the heat (and it is APRIL???) and won't go outside to play!
It is going to be a loooooooong summer!
I agree... unplug the computers and playstations and throw them out in a snow bank people. It's for their own good! They will remember the snow forts... but the game they were playing? I think not.
I am so done with winter until October. But I know where my boots and mittens are because we'll probably get now in May. Or June. Or July. Or August.
Jim:
What you need to do is fake a power outage. Take care of Xbox for long time.
